Daily Sun (March 19 2014) - WHEN a neighbour told Nelly her brand new shoes were ugly, Nelly's feelings were badly hurt.
She posted on Facebook and started a fight on the internet - but soon the fight moved from social media to Nelly's front door . . .
NOW NELLY IS FEELING A LOT MORE PAIN THAN JUST HURT FEELINGS!
Nelly Modibedi (20) from Ivory Park, near Tembisa got the R800 shoes from her father to add to her collection.
"I love fashion and my dad always buys me the latest fashionable clothes and shoes. It is my personal fashion sense but clearly my neighbour doesn't agree because she is jealous," Nelly told Nelly said she was with her neighbour and her friends when they started saying nasty things about her shoes.
"I didn't say anything but I was hurt because I love the colour," said Nelly.
Then Nelly went home and posted about the incident on Facebook.
Her friends commented, praising Nelly for her good fashion sense and saying the neighbour's fashion sense sucked.
When the woman saw the posts she responded with a post of her own.
"LOL. I was wearing an air max n some ladies were like yho ur shoe is ugly were have u bought it?" she posted.
She advised Nelly to keep quiet.
"Cos ppl will laugh @ u. #niphumaphi nathi siye".
Three days later she went to Nelly's house - but it couldn't have been a friendly talk.
According to Nelly, the neighbour lost her temper and beat her up. Later the woman spoke to Daily Sun.
"I didn't think Nelly would blow the incident out of proportion," she said.
"I didn't think she would go to the newspapers or have me arrested."
The neighbour is clearly still angry about the incident.
"I'm older than that child. I'm not jealous of her clothes. She buys clothes for herself, not for me," she fumed.
"She wants to destroy me by having me arrested."
Olwethu Dladla, one of the neighbour's friends, admitted saying Nelly's shoes were an ugly colour.
"The shoes didn't look nice to me. That child is spoiled and she likes things her way. Let her go to the media if she wants to do that," she said. Cops have opened a case of assault and a suspect was arrested but released on bail.
