"Senzo's car is seized!" - Daily Sun

"BMW is taken from his family home" - front page lead, January 8 2015

Daily Sun (January 8 2015) - MANY people were unhappy when Kelly Khumalo was seen driving around in the late Senzo Meyiwa's car.

But that's all in the past. For now, nobody will be driving the big 4x4.

SENZO'S BMW X6 HAS BEEN REPOSSESSED BECAUSE THE PAYMENTS HAVEN'T BEEN MADE.

The car was repossessed from Senzo's home at Umlazi, KZN yesterday by Aucor Property in Durban after his family failed to settle the arrears.

It is not know how much money was outstanding. Kelly set tongues wagging when she was seen driving the car only hours after Senzo was killed. The Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain and goalkeeper was shot and killed on 26 October last year at Kelly's mother's house in Spruitview, Ekurhuleni.

He was allegedly shot while trying to save Kelly from intruders who demanded her cellphone. He died on the way to hospital in the same

car which is now in the hands of auctioneers.  Speculation that Kelly would get the car ended when Senzo's estate was shared by his family last month and it was revealed that neither Kelly, nor the child she had with Senzo, would receive a cent.

Daily Sun has established that the car was financed for more than R1 million by BMW Motor Finance and was not insured.

Aucor confirmed that the vehicle was booked in at the Durban branch yesterday. "We cannot say when it will be auctioned because we have to wait for clearance from the bank," said an Aucor employee. It is not known what will happen to Senzo's BMW 1 Series and the VW Gold 5 GTI, although it is rumoured that the BMW may be repossessed as well. Sam Meyiwa, Senzo's father, didn't want to talk to Daily Sun. "Let's leave it, sisi," he said before ending the call. Kelly's cellphone rang unanswered.

No one has yet been charged with Senzo's murder.

But cops close to the investigations suspect that the soccer star knew his killer.

Though it was not confirmed, sources in the police told Daily Sun that the killers might have been chilling with Senzo and Kelly shortly before the shooting.

Cops arrested a car washer shortly after the murder but he was later released after he could not be linked to the incident.

A firearm belonging to an unidentified person was taken for ballistics checking by cops late last year.
