"Stripped and painted white!" - Daily Sun

"Sibusiso is a thief, say 3 women!" - front page lead, November 24 2014

Daily Sun (November 24 2014) - SIBUSISO Mgomezulu will never forget the three women who stripped him naked. But it wasn't because they liked him.

THEY CALLED HIM A THIEF AND PAINTED HIM WHITE - STARTING WITH HIS 4-5!

Today, the women are behind bars charged with sexual assault and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Sibusiso (28) said he was humiliated in front of shoppers in Joburg's Yeoville for something he didn't do.

His misery began when a woman shouted he was a thief.

"Then the women stripped me naked. They painted my 4-5. I was white from head to toe," he said.

"The ladies shouted they would paint me white so everyone could see me from far and be alert," said Sibusiso.

He said they punched and hit him with stones.

Then they pinned him down and kept beating him.

"My whole body was sore." Sibusiso said he was surprised as the women knew him.

"I have been helping them with odd jobs like sweeping in their shops and packing their stuff," he said.

"But they treated me like a stranger and a thief.

"How can they paint my private parts?"

Lungani Zulu (43) said he saw the attack, and Sibusiso was innocent.

"He was with us, chilling. Minutes later we saw him walking naked. His body was all white.

"It was inhuman for those women to undress Sibusiso and paint him. If he stole from them, they should have called the police to arrest him," said Lungani.

He said people laughed at what the women did.

Thulani Dlamini (33) said it was good to see police bust the women. "We will make sure they pay for what they did to Sibusiso," he said.

Constable Thabo Malaji said three women would appear in the Joburg Magistrates Court soon.
