Federal Congress 2010: Leadership nominations announced

The Democratic Alliance (DA) will hold its fourth Federal Congress in Cape Town on 24 and 25 July, and nominations for several positions in the party's federal leadership closed on Friday 2 July at 16h00.

The following nominations were received by the deadline:

Federal Chairperson:

Dr. Wilmot James (sole nominee)

Deputy Federal Chairperson (listed by order of surname):

Anchen Dreyer

Dianne Kohler Barnard

Bonginkosi Madikizela

Anroux Marais

Sizwe Mchunu

Dr. Ivan Meyer

Sejamothopo Motau

Khume Ramulifho

Nine nominations have been received for the three vacancies for Deputy Federal Chairperson. The printing of ballot papers for this position will commence this week, and arrangements are being made with our auditors to conduct a draw which will determine the order in which names will appear on the ballot paper. Voting will be conducted using the single transferable vote system.
