"Vuyo's sad last words! Tributes pour in for top newsman" - Daily Sun

Daily Sun (May 20 2013) - VUYO Mbuli's last words were of love for his estranged wife . . . "Umhle Thando," he told Savita Mbuli, before dying of a heart attack. SAVITA SAID HE ALWAYS SPOKE THOSE WORDS TO HER WHEN THEY WERE TOGETHER. News of the death of the 46-year-old SAfm presenter, businessman and co-host of SABC2's Morning Live has shocked Mzansi. Mbuli collapsed while watching the Cheetahs vs Reds rugby match at Free State Rugby Stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday. He was declared dead at 2am yesterday.

He was with a friend and his son as a guest of Free State Rugby in the presidential suite when he was struck down. Two doctors in the suite treated him before he went to hospital. Although Savita and Vuyo were living apart they still had much to bind them. They had two children from their troubled 16-year-old marriage and co-owned Zazise Communications. One of Mbuli's Zazise staff said he complained of congestion days before he died. He was not at his office for a few days and they feared they wouldn't be paid.

Former journalist Zenoyise John, Mbuli's media manager at Zazise Communications, said the workers were sad and shocked. "The last time we were with him was on Wednesday. He did not show any signs of sickness." Mbuli was on Morning Live for 13 years and respected for his professionalism.But his private life was controversial. In 2009, he was said to have been found in another man's house with his pants down.

He was also in legal wars with the Airports Company of SA and the City of Matlosana and in the news for not paying staff. Mbuli is survived by his parents, two children, Savita and his girlfriend.
