Academic fraud Noxolo Kiviet must resign immediately – EFF

Fighters say minister has disgraced not only herself, but has undermined integrity of UFH as well

EFF statement on the fraudulent conferring of post-graduate degrees to Minister of Public Service and Administration Noxolo Kiviet

13 March 2023

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has noted the shameful reports which implicate the newly appointed Minister of Public Service and Administration Noxolo Kiviet, in the receiving of post-graduate qualifications at the University of Fort Hare without the prerequisite junior degrees.

Kiviet is reported to hold an Honours Degree in Administration and Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Fort Hare, while only being in possession of a matric certificate and a non-credit bearing short course certificate wherein the results are handwritten.

These shocking reports give credence to the claims by University of Fort Hare Vice-Chancellor Sakhele Buhlungu, who after an assassination attempt on his life revealed that there are fifteen high-ranking politicians, who are implicated in the fraudulent awarding of post-graduate qualifications at the University. One amongst those is the ally of Cyril Ramaphosa and Premier of the Eastern Cape Oscar Mabuyane.

Kiviet, who is now under investigation by the Special Investigative Unit (SIU) for fraud is a testament to the criminal nature of the collective Cabinet of Cyril Ramaphosa. Ramaphosa has surrounded himself with fraudsters, perpetrators of Gender Based Violence and people who collude with criminals and plot the destruction of their opponents using law enforcement agencies.

Noxolo Kiviet has disgraced not only herself, but has undermined the integrity of the University of Fort Hare and jeopardized its public standing in a society that is prone to question the legitimacy of predominantly African institutions of Higher Learning. She has offended the academic fraternity, and spat in the face of millions of young people who work hard for their qualifications and make meaningful contributions to research and the development of knowledge.

The EFF calls for the immediate resignation of the academic fraud Noxolo Kiviet, and for her to be barred from registering at any institution of higher learning for the crimes she has committed.

The corruption of the ANC knows no bounds, and this is further reason for all the people of South Africa to join the National Shutdown on the 20th of March 2023, to uproot the massive corruption of the ruling party, that has filtered into academia.
