ACDP welcomes Mogoeng's nomination as Chief Justice: ACDP President Rev. Kenneth Meshoe MP said today:
The ACDP welcomes the decision of the 16 Judicial Service Commissioners to vote in favour of President Zuma's nominee, Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng. Their vote is an acceptance of Justice Mogoeng's reply to his critics that he is neither homophobic nor insensitive to gender based violence. We do not doubt Mogoeng's commitment to judicial ethics and independence, and his upholding of the constitution.
The ACDP is of the view that those who doubt his suitability will be convinced with time as we believe he will do an excellent job. His endorsement by the JSC as future Chief Justice will make it easier for the president to formally appoint him in the next few days.
The ACDP wishes him well in his huge responsibility of guiding the judiciary in our country".
