Yet again today, Cyril Ramaphosa has curtailed campaigning in Soweto due to the ANC being unwelcome in the area.

The DA notes that Ramaphosa has been forced to cancel a campaign rally in Soweto today, due to community rejection of the failing ANC.

On the Voter Registration Weekend we noted that Ramaphosa was booed and chased out of Soweto because residents have had enough of electricity-supply failures by the ANC government, and other service delivery failures.

Over the past days Ramaphosa and the ANC have received a number of very unwelcome receptions, and the picture is starting to build of a South African public sick and tired of ANC broken promises. Even voters in ANC t-shirts have given Ramaphosa and David Mabuza a very hard time.

In Ekurhuleni, at the start of the “Vooma Vaccination” campaign Ramaphosa was booed away from a vaccination site, after the community expected answers on weeks of electricity failures – and Ramaphosa had no answers to this ANC failure.

In the Northern Cape earlier this week, voters vocally criticized the ANC governance failures there, and Ramaphosa was confronted by angry residents who wanted answers on service delivery.

It is becoming clear that the ANC campaign, which is nothing more than a series of door to doors by Cyril Ramaphosa, is unwelcome in large parts of South Africa, just like Ramaphosa is unwelcome in Soweto today.
