ANC/EFF snub DA questions regarding multimillion rand housing projects

The DA in eThekwini has written to the Municipal Speaker, Councillor Thabani Nyawose, to request his urgent intervention following the snubbing of DA questions regarding multimillion rand housing projects (view letter here).

During the Human Settlements and Infrastructure Committee sitting last week, the Chairperson, EFF Councillor Themba Mvubu once again failed to include questions that were sent to him regarding these projects on the Agenda (view questions here and here).

These questions were sent for consideration in the June and July Committees as per Section 27 (4), (5) and (6) rules of order, requesting answers on the delays, maladministration of funds and mismanagement of projects.

If the municipality has nothing to hide, these questions should be attended to immediately. We cannot have millions go missing, while residents wait decades for proper housing.

The DA is committed to ensuring that residents of eThekwini have a right to dignified housing and will continue the fight until this right is realized.

As we approach 2024, residents are reminded that only the DA puts the interest of residents first. Voters will have the opportunity to bring about accountable and open governance.
