ANCYL RESPONSE TO THE REMARKS OF MKMVA

The ANCYL takes with exception the remarks made by the MKMVA regarding the President of the ANCYL. The ANCYL has learnt with regret that MKMVA has accused the President of the ANCYL referring to the Gupta Family in relation to the President of the ANC. 

The President of the ANCYL has never referred to the Gupta Family in relation to the President of the ANC at any point. The President of the ANCYL has at all times raised issues of genuine interest that are critical to the masses of our people. There have been consistent messages raised as we move towards the Local Government Elections that those who stand to be elected are cautioned not to dispense patronage and ensure that the prioirities of the ANC are the priorities of our people.

The ANCYL dismisses the allegations made by the MKMVA, in the understanding that there has never been a implication of the Guptas, if at any point there is a need to raise individuals or a family as the ANCYL will never be afraid to do so.

The ANCYL therefore would like to reaffirm that as we move towards the upcoming Local Government Elections all cadres of the ANC who will stand for election remain committed to our communities and the needs of people.
