ANCYL NTT outraged at invasion of SA by Gupta guests

Task Team welcomes President Jacob Zuma's decision not to attend wedding

Press Release on the invasion of our country

The African National Congress Youth League National Task Team (ANCYL NTT) joins South Africans in expressing outrage on the invasion of our country by guests attending the Gupta wedding in Sun City. We seek answers from the ANC-led government on how it is that national security was breached in such a callous manner, disrespecting the people and laws of our country. The landing of a civilian aircraft at the Waterkloof Airforce Base, a National Key Point, eluding all the obligatory customs and security checks is unacceptable and undermines South Africa and its people.

The ANCYL NTT welcomes the fact that Comrade President Jacob Zuma found it appropriate not to attend the wedding of people who had invaded our soil. We call upon all progressive South Africans, particularly ANC leaders and deployees in government, who were invited to the wedding to follow President Zuma's example as their attendance will be viewed as condoning this security breach.

We welcome the investigation by the Department of International Relations. This act of gross negligence and misconduct can't go unpunished and those responsible must be criminally prosecuted and dismissed. It is our belief that all individuals involved in this saga should be exposed to face the full wrath of the law.

We join the African National Congress in calling for an explanation on this matter and for heads to roll for those who allowed that plane to land at our military base, a National Key Point.
