ANC YOUTH LEAGUE NATIONAL WORKING COMMITTEE STATEMENT

The ANC Youth League National Working Committee regular meeting happened on Thursday, 18 August 2011 to make organisational assessment and define a concrete way forward on the political, organisational and ideological work.

The NWC assessed report back RGCs on the 24th National Congress resolutions that are happening throughout the Country. The NWC is satisfied with all the RGC's that set from Saturday the 13th -14th August 2011.ANCYL branches welcomed the report as a true reflection of what transpired in congress and they are ready to lobby branches of the ANC and their local structures on the economic freedom in our life time program.

The NWC remains unshaken on its program of economic freedom in our lifetime and will continue to lobby for the Nationalisation of mines and for expropriation without compensation. The ANCYL will in the next two weeks have bilaterals with fraternal organization to develop a common program on economic freedom in our life time.

The youth league will roll out mass action throughout the country on free education, youth unemployment and on economic freedom in our life time. The ANCYL will call for marches in all Provinces to strategic sectors of the economy, particularly JSE, Chamber of Mines, AGRISA, and the UNION Building, etc.

The ANCYL will mobilise all young people, unemployed youth, informal settlement dwellers to fight against economic oppression in all its formats and character. The details of these mass protests will be unveiled on the birthday of the ANCYL 12th September 2011.

We are inspired that most structures of the ANC at Provincial, Regional and branch level agree with the ANCYL on Nationalisation of Mines and Expropriation without compensation. The ANCYL members must never be demoralised or defocused by threats that are circulating in the media, they must remain vigilant, focused and on the ground. The struggle for economic freedom will never be diverted by anybody.

The ANC Youth League NEC is going ahead with our report back sessions over the weekend of the 20th -21 August 2011 in Mpumalanga and Gauteng through RGCs and members of the media are welcome for certain parts of the sessions.
