Xolani Sotashe on duty municipal workers being used as billboards for party

ANC slams DA abusing state resources

The Western Cape ANC has reported incidents where Cape Town officials with DA T-shirts delivered water to areas on the Cape Flats.

The ANC received many complaints from residents in areas such as Nyanga and KTC road section on Sunday where workers with DA shirts brought water in trucks for people cut off since Saturday.

The double standard DA has been caught red handed abusing state resources.

ANC chief whip in the City of Cape Town Xolani Sotashe says the DA is fast to raise issues of the misuse of public or state resources, because the DA is in fact guilty hiding behind the door.

"The DA politicise service delivery. We saw this during the local government elections with staged television advertisements and in the many shenanigans by the DA at all possible levels.

"Now officials are entrapped to collude with the DA in wearing party political T-shirts while on duty. This has been confirmed on Sunday at high level by a senior official.

"It is unacceptable that the DA abuse on duty municipal workers as party bill board. The matter will be followed up and investigated," says Sotashe.

* A code of conduct investigation will also be asked after an incident on Saturday afternoon at a public meeting in Khayelitsha where Cape Town health mayoral committee member (Ms) Lungiswa James in full view of many people allegedly assaulted somebody.
