Carel Boshoff always willing to engage - ANCYL

League saddened by death of Orania founder (before he could embrace non-racialism)

ANC YOUTH LEAGUE STATEMENT ON THE PASSING AWAY OF PROFESSOR CAREL BOSHOFF:

The ANC Youth League sends its condolences to the family and friends of Professor Carel Boshoff, the founder of the Orania Community in the Northern Cape. The ANC Youth League is saddened that he passed away before he could fully embrace the non-racialism brought forth by the democratic government in South Africa.

We are saying fully embrace because in our interaction with Professor Boshoff during the General Elections in 2009, he assured us that he accepts the democratic government of the ANC at National, Provincial and Local level, but maintained that the Afrikaner community should live separately to conserve their traditions and culture.

Professor Boshoff, unlike other right wing forces was always willing to engage with other people, even those he did not agree with and always made it a point to put his argument more cogently and prudently. The ANC Youth League regrets his passing away because he had maximum prospects of understanding and embracing non-racialism. May his soul rest in peace.
