Changes to Shadow Cabinet and Parliamentary Caucus – Mmusi Maimane

DA leader says their success in local govt elections left several vacancies and has necessitated some changes

DA announces changes to Shadow Cabinet and Parliamentary Caucus Leadership

24 November 2016

Changes to the DA’s Shadow Cabinet:

The DA’s success in the 2016 local government elections left several vacancies in the Parliamentary caucus. These vacancies have now all been filled, and this has necessitated some changes to the DA’s Shadow Cabinet. I have today made these changes, which will be effective from 1 January 2017, giving those Members time to read themselves into their portfolios over the December break. I believe this is the right team to help us achieve our 2019 goals, and I congratulate all Members on their appointment.

The new Shadow Cabinet is attached here.

The Caucus Mid-Term Whippery Election:

The DA’s mid-term caucus elections are taking place across the country at the moment. In our Parliamentary caucus, these elections took place today. The Deputy Chief Whip, the Caucus Chairperson and Deputy Caucus Chairperson were all re-elected unopposed. The 13 Whips elected were:

Boshoff, Sonja

Davis, Gavin

Figg, Malcolm

Kopane, Patricia

Lorimer, James

Lotriet, Annelie

Mackenzie, Cameron

Marais, Erik

Mazzone, Natasha

Ollis, Ian

Rabotapi, Winston

Steyn, Annette

Stubbe, Dirk

I am confident that this strong and dynamic team will help us achieve our goals heading towards 2019, and I once again congratulate all Members on their appointment.
