Charlotte Lobe AWOL for 4 months - COPE

National committee appoints Deidre Carter as Acting General Secretary

The Congress National Committee of COPE met today in Johannesburg. The meeting dealt with the status of the General Secretary of the party, Ms Charlotte Lobe. Ms Lobe has not been attending to her duties for the last 4 months. The meeting resolved to discontinue paying her salary and reaffirmed the appointment of Ms Deidre Carter as Acting General Secretary until the elective congress.

It was also resolved that the disputed Provincial Congress of the Free State would be dealt with by the CNC task team headed by Mr. Tozamile Botha within the next two weeks.

The meeting also received the report from the disciplinary committee that considered the allegations of sexual harassment against Mr Willy Madisha. The committee found him not guilty of the charges. The meeting adjourned at 4pm.
