Pretoria- Following the incident that happened at the beach in Clifton 4th beach on 23 December 2018, the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) launched an investigation on the role played by the private security company in question, Professional Protective Alternatives (PPA); during the debacle where it is alleged that they closed the beach to the public. The investigation conducted on the company has been concluded.

However, due to additional statements received from eye witnesses and complainants with intimate information, PSiRA was compelled to institute a full-scale investigation which included getting affidavits from members of the public on the allegations and the actual sequence of events that took place on the day.

We cordially thank the members of the public who have sent us complaints in confidence. Such information has assisted us in our investigation. The Acting CEO, Mmatlou Sebogodi, has said, “We are determined to go to the bottom of this matter without fear or favour and we would like to urge members of the public to be patient with our further investigation as we look at all the angles that were at play, we intend to leave no stone unturned”.

We can assure South Africans that we are hard at work on this matter, we appeal to the public to provide the team the necessary time to complete this investigation to ensure that nothing hampers our preliminary findings.
