Coffin case accused did not show remorse – COSATU

Federation will oppose bail application and picket outside court to make sure the full might of the law takes its course

COSATU to oppose the bail application of two white racists who attacked a farm dweller and threw him into a coffin

6 December 2016

The Congress of South African Unions in Mpumalanga and her allies will picket at Middelburg magistrate court to oppose the bail application of the two white racists who brutally attacked and assaulted a farm dweller Victor Mlotshwa and placed him into a coffin alive. The federation will stage the picket to oppose the bail application due to the following reasons:-

- That the attackers committed the barbaric act for no substantial reasons.

- That the culprits are notorious of committing similar attacks to many blacks victims in the area.

- That one of the accused attackers keeps coffins in his household in order to continue to committing such barbaric acts.

- That the accused did not show remorse of the act they have committed ;instead they manipulated the legal processes by refusing bail during the initial court date and decided to mysteriously apply for bail before  the set  new court date of 25 January 2016.

We have vowed not to leave any stone unturned till the full might of the law takes its course and justice prevails.
