ConCourt dismisses EFF's application for direct access - Office of ANC Chief Whip

This brings to two the number of the EFF's failed desperate attempts to use the courts to quash disciplinary action against its MPs

Dismissal of EFF Court Case by Concourt

The Office of the ANC Chief Whip notes and welcomes the decision of the Constitutional Court yesterday to dismiss with cost an urgent application by the EFF for direct access to the Court to interdict Parliament from imposing punitive measures taken against its 20 Members of Parliament.

The Concourt's dismissal of the case brings to two the number of EFF's failed desperate attempts to use the courts to quash disciplinary action against its MPs. An attempt to interdict the Powers and Privileges Committee's disciplinary process was dismissed by the Western Cape High Court on 29 September. We are confident that even the case currently before Western Cape High Court would be dismissed.

We are confident that no court of law will take seriously flawed and frivolous litigations of an anarchic grouping which has, through words and deeds, consistently illustrated a blatant disdain and disregard for any rules and the laws governing a democratic Parliament.
