The SACP wishes to congratulate the ANC on its electoral victories in the majority of by-elections held in various parts of the country. We have also received reports from our comrades deployed and doing work with the alliance partners in the ongoing by-elections at the local government level. The by election results and these reports that we have received confirm an increased and overwhelming confidence that our people have on the ANC led alliance and its capacity to effectively lead society.
Those who thought they were above the ANC mistakenly rode on the wave of this popularity that our movement enjoys and resigned from the ANC to join the Gang of three now known as COPE. Many of them were misled and they have had to painfully learn the lesson.
This is the same lesson that the Dandala led team will learn on the 22nd April when South Africans will return the ANC into power with an overwhelming majority like it is happening now during the by elections.
COPE has now run out of steam. The writing is on the wall! They are afraid wherever they are to face April 22. We urge our people to come out in their numbers on April 22nd to vote the ANC in order to consolidate our revolution and defeat its detractors.
The SACP congratulates the ANC on the resounding victory.
