COSATU WCape laid on free trains for illegal march - Cape Town

Brett Herron says this proves the march is simply part of a political strategy to make city ungovernable

City learns of Cosatu Western Cape's role in illegal march

The City of Cape Town was this afternoon informed that Cosatu Western Cape has facilitated free trains in order to assist members of the public participating in an illegal march scheduled for tomorrow.

This definitively proves that this illegal march is not related to genuine service delivery concerns. It is rather a political strategy to make the city ungovernable fully supported by Cosatu and by implication the ANC.

I am informed that Cosatu have gone so far as to sign an indemnity form taking responsibility for any damage caused to Metrorail trains.

It is unacceptable that Cosatu Western Cape is playing such an active role in aiding and abetting an illegal march.

Should there be any violence associated with tomorrow's illegal march, the City will use every mechanism at its disposal to hold Cosatu Western Cape financially responsible.
