COSATU to fight school closures
A public meeting to stop school closures is to be held on Sunday at 16h30 at VGK church, Lavis Drive Bishop Lavis.
COSATU will not allow the schools to close, as this is important for learners, and there future. COSATU will be calling on MEC Grant to be dismissed, as he is an example of Cadre deployment in the DA, incompetent and insensitive to the learners needs.
MEC Grant is dismissive of the needs of black learners and he is trying to stop racial integration in schools, as he fears that learners in the townships will soon be asking for the same educational facilities in the townships as exist in the old white schools.
This meeting will be attended by a number of organisations, including Equal Education, SADTU, ANC and religious organisations and school governing bodies.
