North Gauteng High Court to make ruling on Zuma Corruption Charges leave to appeal
23 June 2016
Tomorrow the North Gauteng High Court will tomorrow hand down judgement in the application for leave to appeal against the judgment of a full bench in the case of Zuma's Corruption Charges.
This comes after arguments were presented to the Court earlier this month regarding President Jacob Zuma and the National Prosecuting Authority’s leave to appeal. This marks a seminal day in a protracted battle to uphold the Rule of Law above which no man, not even the President, is above.
This comes after the DA last night received the Court’s notice that they were scheduled to hand down judgement in an application for leave to appeal that the DA believes amounts to further litigation at the taxpayers’ expense.
At the time the Court reserved judgement which indicates that the Court is insistent on giving this application its full and careful attention – and we are confident that it will come to a favourable finding by dismissing the NPA’s and Zuma's application when it hands down judgment.
