DA announces KZN Legislature caucus leadership changes

16 May 2021

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new leadership within the provincial Legislature, with Francois Rodgers taking up the role of Caucus Leader and the appointment of Zwakele Mncwango as Chief Whip.

The change in roles follows my election as DA provincial Leader in March. Both appointments are effective immediately.

As the incoming Legislature Leader, I look forward to reinforcing the DA’s position as KZN’s true opposition. In addition, I look forward to continuing my work within the Finance and Scopa portfolio committees, where I have served the DA for the past seven years.

I also welcome my colleague Zwakele Mncwango to the role of Chief Whip. As both the former provincial and Legislature leader, he comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience and is finely attuned to the unique challenges that exist within our province. I have no doubt that he will continue to have a positive impact and assist in guiding the Caucus in his new capacity.

As we head towards an election later this year, the people of our province are longing for real hope and real change. The DA is committed to making this a reality.
