DA calls on Tshwane community to join its Corona crisis Charity Drive
7 April 2020
The Democratic Alliance (DA) is extremely concerned about the large number of requests that are flooding in for food parcels and social relief, due to the challenges of the national lockdown to contain the spread of the Coronavirus.
We have approached the Department of Social Development and the Gauteng Provincial Government, and it appears that the demand far exceeds the availability of supplies.
Getting these food parcels authorised is also a tedious process, and the lengthy wait is prolonging the suffering of those who are in dire need of them.
The DA has compiled a list of more than 200 families, across the city, who are in desperate need of food and social relief.
