YCLSA's response to the unfounded "concerns" of the DA about the chairperson of the Labour committee in parliament
The Young Communist League of South Africa (UFasimba) notes the "motion of no confidence" by the Democratic Alliance on the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee of Labour in parliament, Lunga Yengeni. The statement, issued by the so-called "shadow Minister of Labour" Andrew Louw, is nothing but a representation of the class enemy of the working class and the poor (see here).
The DA has consistently come to parliament with the sole purpose of becoming the mouthpiece of those who have "traded" human beings as slaves in the name of an open-opportunity and free-market capitalist society. They have defended horrendous acts committed by Labour Brokers in the hearings, which we consistently participated in without any flinch and due regard for such act. They have stood for profit-maximisation by the labour brokers with complete disregard of the abusive, deceptive, unlawful and completely inhumane accounts represented by workers themselves and working class leaders.
We want to encourage the DA to go into the portfolio committee discussion to defend these atrocities, and stop threatening the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee. We shall see if, with their meagre representation, they will be able to defeat the voice of the working class and the poor in the form of the ANC.
As participants in the discussion on the 25th of August, all we have seen is everyone, including Mr. Louw and his DA business cronies, being given more than enough time to tangle themselves further, with a web of untruths meant to save the last gasp of labour brokers. We reiterate our call for the banning of these "slave traders" and "human traffickers".
