THE Democratic Alliance in KwaZulu-Natal welcomes the election of KZN MP, Lindiwe Mazibuko, as national parliamentary leader.
Mazibuko's selection again highlights the party's commitment to diversity. Her appointment also brings strong representation for KwaZulu-Natal at national level, as she and several other KZN parliamentarians look to take centre stage within the National Assembly.
The battle for leadership has emphasised the quality of leadership within the Democratic Alliance. Former parliamentary leader, Athol Trollip has served the party with distinction, both in his capacity as leader of the DA in the Eastern Cape and in the National Assembly.
We, the Democratic Alliance in KwaZulu-Natal, wish Lindiwe Mazibuko every success as she takes the reins in leading the party, in parliament, into the future. We fully commit and pledge our unreserved support for her in the pursuit of an open opportunity society for all.
Statement issued by Sizwe Mchunu, MPP, Leader of the DA in the KZN Legislature/ DA KZN Provincial leader, October 27 2011
