DA supports calls to review Kannaland Mayor choice

The DA supports the calls for a review of the choice for Kannaland Mayor, elected to the position by the ANC and ICOSA.

The appointment of a convicted child rapist as Mayor should be rethought by both parties to ensure that a suitable Mayor is elected.

Like millions of South Africans across the country, the DA was outraged to see a convicted criminal of the order of a child rapist promoted to the office of Mayor.

In a country plagued by the horror of Gender Based Violence and sexual abuse, this is an issue that should concern us all.
