ANC Statement on the Mpumalanga Provincial Conference
The African National Congress through its NEC deployees to the Mpumalanga provincial conference welcomes the successful outcome of the provincial conference held at the Mbombela stadium this weekend. The conference attended by over 1000 delegates was characterized by the enthusiastic and engaging delegates who elected a total of 35 PEC members of which 5 are the Provincial Officials.
The conference also held fruitful discussions in eight commissions that resulted in a number of resolutions that will inform the organisational mandate and program of the new PEC. The ANC NEC deployees were encouraged by the level of discipline and cooperation displayed by all delegates. This conference upheld the ANC resolution of ensuring gender parity in the PEC. It also drew into the PEC young people from the ANCYL.
We were encouraged by the stated commitment of the new PEC to work towards uniting the province and reaching-out to the outgone PEC members with a view to ensure that the work of the organization continues. The new PEC committed itself to strengthen and grow the organisation as its priority. It also committed itself to focus on the forthcoming local government elections to ensure a resounding success for the ANC in the province.
