ANC says intervene in Oudtshoorn
The ANC Western Cape says urgent intervention is needed to restore good governance and trust in the municipality of Oudtshoorn.
The ANC's position on Oudtshoorn follows the impasse and untenable situation that developed in the Little Karoo town over months and was heightened after the DA's illegal interferences in the ability of the municipality to work optimally and maintain the public confidence.
The ANC has called over months for the appointment of staff only to the approved organigram and that all other appointments are terminated.
In the latest development of the saga water problems are foreseen and Eskom gave notice that it will cut electricity supply to the town due to unpaid debt that places basic services under threat.
ANC Western Cape leader Marius Fransman says: "The degeneration of the position in Oudtshoorn is a shame and can no longer be tolerated. The town cannot be held at ransom by individuals.
