EFF STATEMENT CONGRATULATING PRESIDENT NICOLAS MADURO ON HIS RE-ELECTION

Monday, 29 July 2024.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) extends our congratulations to President Nicolas Maduro and his party, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), on his re-election as President of Venezuela. We also commend the Venezuelan populace for participating in a free and fair election, reaffirming their commitment to democratic principles.

This triumph not only celebrates the re-election of President Maduro and the PSUV, but also signifies a militant adherence to left-wing politics. Despite facing relentless pressure, sanctions, and interference from the oil greedy, imperialist United States, Venezuela has resolutely upheld its socialist path, showcasing the resilience and determination of its leaders and citizens.

It is unmistakably clear that the people of Venezuela are resolute in their support for the revolutionary socialist principles that have delivered superior infrastructure, enhanced access to vital resources, and a sense of dignity under the audacious leadership of the PSUV. This electoral victory is a powerful testament to the monumental progress achieved through President Maduro boldly prioritising the needs and welfare of the masses over the insidious interests of the elite.

The EFF proudly stands as a fierce ally of President Maduro and the PSUV, recognising our shared revolutionary vision and dedication to annihilating imperialist domination. Our unbreakable solidarity with Venezuela is deeply rooted in our mutual commitment to socialism, anti-imperialism, and the uncompromising pursuit of social justice for all oppressed peoples.

We congratulate the people of Venezuela on this significant victory, which serves as an inspiration to leftist movements globally. This victory emboldens us in our fight for economic freedom in South Africa, free from the clutches of neo-colonialisrn and foreign intervention.
