THE SACP GAUTENG PROVINCE CONDEMNS EFF ATTEMPTS TO SETUP A FASCIST CALIPHATE IN NELLMAPIUS TSHWANE

The SACP Gauteng Province discussed and strongly condemns the land-grab by the Empty Futhi Futhi (EFF) on the Nellmapius Road in Tshwane last week in which scores of residents were deceitfully mobilised to grab government owned land earmarked for low cost housing.

This invasion bedevilled plans for an imminent housing project in the area and government efforts at realising its commitment to land reform.  We are reliably informed that the fascist-EFF leaders were the kingpins of this elaborate project. Much to our earlier projections about the character of fascist forces, these invaders prey on the vulnerable and land hungry residents who were deviously led into invading the Nellmapius Road land.

The Metro police had to disperse the land grabbers by firing teargas and the city of Tshwane approached the courts for an urgent court interdict.

The SACP believes that this incident is not isolated. It is part of an unravelling and countrywide low-intensity counter-revolutionary offensive. This offensive is seeking for localised ways to dislodge the democratic project and the National Democratic Revolution, by artificially creating psychosis in national public opinion, whether in or out of parliament, in the public sphere, the economy or the trade union movement.

We reiterate our call for vigilance against EFF, a fascist social force, hostile to the democratic project. EFF poses as progressive, but in essence articulates a program which objectively furthers the interests of imperialism.

We call on law enforcement agencies to follow through suspicion of criminal conduct regarding allegations that those who led the illegal land invasion, are handsomely rewarded for allotment of plots to residents and thus for causing provocation. They must disclose who funds their land invasion operation and be made to bear the responsibility for any injuries during confrontation with the police including for the loss of property belonging to the poor vulnerable families.

The SACP and its alliance partners remains committed to struggle for land and agrarian reform and transformation as part of an ongoing consolidation, deepening and advancing of the National Democratic revolution in its second and more radical phase.
