EFF TSHWANE WELCOMES SUSPENSION OF PRETORIA HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS PRINCIPAL AND CALLS FOR INDEPENDENT INQUIRY.
Tuesday, 30 July 2024
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Tshwane proudly welcomes the suspension of Ms. Phillipa Erasmus, Principal of Pretoria High School for Girls. This decisive action is a significant step towards addressing the systemic racism and injustices that have plagued the institution for far too long. However, the fight for justice and equality is far from over
We unequivocally demand the establishment of an independent body to oversee the disciplinary committee. The current school governing body has proven itself incapable of impartially addressing the serious issues at hand. Their consistent failure to protect black learners from discrimination and their complicity in perpetuating a hostile environment necessitate an external inquiry.
The EFF in Tshwane has no confidence in the school's governing body. Their inaction and lack of accountability have only served to deepen the mistrust within the school community. An external, unbiased body must take charge to ensure a fair and transparent process that holds all parties accountable.
We call upon the Department of Education and relevant authorities to urgently appoint an independent body to lead the disciplinary proceedings against Ms. Erasmus and any other implicated staff members. It is imperative that this body operates with the highest standards of integrity and impartiality to restore faith in the institution and deliver justice to the affected students.
