EFFSC exonerated at VUT - EFF

Fighters say independent inquiry found the allegations of corruption to be baseless

THE EFF STATEMENT ON THE EXONERATION OF THE EFFSC AT THE VUT

25 August 2015

The EFF welcomes the decision by the Independent Inquiry at the Vaal University of Technology to clear all allegations of corruption against our members in the student branch there. Members of the EFF were accused by the VUT SASCO branch of soliciting a bribe of R300,000.00 from a service provider at the institution. The matter was later surprisingly raised in parliament by the ANC clearly indicating collusion in a smear campaign against our organization. Even the Minister of Higher education and ‘struggle icon’ Blade Nzimande, fired warning shots that he would deal decisively with our members.

The EFF has been exonerated, once again proving that we are much bigger and much higher than the ANC and its minion’s dirty tricks. It is clear that Blade Nzimande’s clear instructions to 'kill the EFF’ had been heeded by the weak and dysfunctional SASCO at VUT and these unfounded allegations were laid against our members out of bitterness. We are happy that an Independent Body found that these claims were without any basis, once more proving that where there is no interference by the corrupt ANC, the EFF will always be exonerated by justice.

The ANC and its SASCO are still bruised that the EFF thrashed them decisively in the SRC elections at VUT and this was their weak attempt at a comeback. The leadership of the EFF at VUT will continue to lead that institution with vigilance because much against these weak tactics to taint us, through the eye of the needle, our leadership ‘is made of sterner stuff’.

The ANC must now realize that it has reached the end of its days and that the EFF is a movement whose time has come. We warn the ANC to desist from fabricating lies in society and bringing them to parliament as truth.

This is clear disregard and disrespect of that institution. We warn the Minister of Higher Education and ‘struggle icon’ Blade Nzimande not to meddle with student politics which he has no experience of. His task is to facilitate fair learning conditions for all students regardless of their political affiliation. Instead, he is actively interfering with and contravening that mandate. Blade must not fashion himself as a demigod of institutions of higher learning.

Our machinery in that space and the caliber of leadership we produce are of a much higher grade. The EFF is here is to stay and there is nothing the opposition at VUT can do about it.

We will continue to render the ANC and its minion SASCO a mere opposition in other institutions of higher learning. SASCO and the ANC have failed to provide quality education to our students. They together with their lackluster minister of higher education have failed to create institutions conducive of a learning environment for students.

The EFF is adamant that we will provide free and quality education and the increasing support we are getting at institutions of higher learning is testimony that learners understand and underpin this sentiment.

We congratulate the leadership of the EFF in the VUT branch on this important victory and encourage them to continue leading that institution with the vigilance that is characteristic of the EFF.  We urge our members and students in general to remain vigilant and continue to support and strengthen our structures and not worry about weak opposition tactics. The EFF will never fail.
