Employers not adhering to measures put in place to stem COVID-19 during lockdown will face shut down
The Department of Employment and Labour blitz inspections in Standerton, Mpumalanga Province, led to the closure of Pax Agricultural Primary Co-operation Limited. The employer was found not complying with occupational health and safety (OHS) Act standards, and not adhering to Covid-19 regulations.
The blitz inspections were triggered by a number of anonymous complaints which were reported to the Department.
The inspection found that, the employer failed to conduct risk assessment in order to implement precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19).
