FF+ welcomes voter turnout overseas

Pieter Mulder says cost and expense of bringing court case was worth it

CITIZENS OVERSEAS SEND A STRONG MESSAGE TO ANC

"The South African citizens who voted in London today sent a strong message to the ANC government through the way in which they had turned up in large numbers to cast their votes", Dr. Pieter Mulder, Leader of the FF Plus who at present is in London, said.

"The large number of voters draws a line through the ANC argument that these South Africans are un-patriotic and had cut all ties with South Africa when they left the country", Dr. Mulder added.

At times the queue was so long that it took up to two hours to reach the entrance of the South African Embassy. The process inside the Embassy did however run smoothly and quickly.

Dr. Mulder furthermore reacted stating that he was convinced that the bureaucratic red-tape with regards to voting abroad can in future be reduced quite a bit in order to make it easier for every South African citizen to cast their vote overseas. He however expressed his gratitude and appreciation for every South African who had gone to the trouble and had patience to still come to cast their votes not-with-standing a lot of administrative obstacles.

"Everything I saw in London today makes the trouble and costs which the FF Plus had incurred with its court case to allow every South African residing overseas to cast their vote, doubly worth while", Mulder said.
