George ranked third best-run municipality in the country

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in George congratulates George Municipality on being ranked the third best-run municipality and best-run secondary city in South Africa.

This comes after the Municipality was ranked third in the 2022 Municipal Financial Sustainability Index (MFSI) survey conducted by Ratings Afrika.

The survey evaluates the country’s 112 largest municipalities, including the eight metros, on a scale of 1 to 100, based on six financial components including their infrastructure development, operating performance, liquidity management and budget practices. The survey gave the Municipality an overall score of 71 out of 100, thereby putting it in the top 3 of the best run municipalities in the country.

It is also worth mentioning, that the top ranked municipalities in the survey are all DA-run municipalities giving testament to the fact that where the DA governs, it governs very well.

The DA in George congratulates the coalition government at the helm of the Municipality, as well as its councillors and officials for their varied contributions and efforts which have resulted in George Municipality being ranked right at the top with the best-run municipalities in the country.
