Groenewald family killed because they were Christian - ACDP

Kenneth Meshoe says people of Kabul benefited greatly from the work that Werner Groenewald was doing in educational charity (Dec 1)

ACDP expresses its condolences at the killing of Groenewald family in Kabul

"The ACDP is saddened by the senseless killing of the Groenewald family who have been helping the people of Kabul since 2003. The people of Kabul benefitted greatly from the work that Werner Groenewald was doing in educational charity (see report).

His wife, Hannelie, who was not in the house at the time of the attack, is a medical doctor and was working at a hospital, treating the sick and the needy.

It is deeply unfortunate that hate-filled Islamic extremists killed this family because of their Christian faith.

The ACDP again calls on the International Community to strongly condemn the continuing senseless killings of Christians, just because of their faith.

Even though Werner, and his children, Roda and Jean Pierre, are safe in the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ, we pray for God's comfort, strength and healing for Hannelie.

We convey our sincere condolences to Hannelie, her family and friends, and those of the Moreleta Park NG Church."
