Gupta TV-channel ANN7 flouts immigration laws - Anton Alberts

FF+ MP says ANC govt continues to allow family to do as they please

Gupta's TV-channel contemptuous of South Africa's immigration and labour laws

The Gupta's TV-channel ANN7's acknowledgement that four of its employees had marked holiday as the reason for their presence in South Africa, is yet more proof that the ANC government has apparently given the Gupta's a free rein for their operations in this country (see Eyewitness News report).

Adv. Anton Alberts, the Freedom Front Plus' parliamentary spokesperson on communications, says the FF Plus strongly condemns this issue and that this is strongly reminiscent of the Waterkloof and Sun City debacle.

"We would like to know why the Gupta's do not employ South Africans. Especially brown and white people are being rejected by the government when it comes to equal employment opportunities.

"Now the Gupta's company is doing the same by denying South Africans from minority groups jobs and is rather employing people from abroad while ignoring the country's immigration and labour legislation in the process.

"These four employees are possibly only the tip of the iceberg and the FF Plus insists that the Gupta's activities with regards to all their personnel in South Africa are investigated thoroughly," Adv. Alberts says.

According to Adv. Alberts, it was widely published that the Gupta's, with their visit to Sun City, did not want to make use of black personnel and insisted on being served by white people.

"Where they however have the opportunity to employ white or brown people themselves, these people are suddenly not good enough.

"It will be very interesting to see an analysis of the composition of the Gupta's personnel in South Africa," Adv. Alberts says.
