Dina Pule: DA receives written confirmation of investigation

The DA has received written confirmation from the Director of the Hawks, Lieutenant General Anwa Dramat, that the crime unit is indeed investigating allegations of corruption against the former Communications Minister, Dina Pule.

The letter confirms that the case is being transferred to the Serious Economic Offences Unit in Pretoria for investigation.

The DA trusts that the investigation will proceed with energy, without interference and with full cooperation from those involved.

The confirmation follows several requests from the DA for clarity on the investigation of Dina Pule, her alleged boyfriend at the time, Phosane Mngqibisa, and executives from the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), CFO Gugu Duda and Group CEO Lulama Mokhobo. The investigation was based on an affidavit submitted by the DA to the South African Police Services (SAPS) in April 2013.

Confirmation of the investigation into the former minister is a clear message to all who hold executive office: misuse your position and you will be investigated and held accountable.
