Mr. Hlaudi Motsoeneng appointed as COO

Johannesburg, Wednesday 09 July 2014 - The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is pleased to announce that the position of Chief Operations Officer (COO) has been filled.

Following a Board meeting, a recommendation was made to the Minister of Communications, Honourable Faith Muthambi, who applied her mind and appointed Mr. Hlaudi Motsoeneng as the corporation's new COO.

Mr. Motsoeneng had been acting within the position for almost three years.

SABC Board Chairperson, Ms. Ellen Tshabalala stated "Following this appointment, the organization now needs to focus its energies on its operational efficiencies. The appointment will assist in moving the organization forward, as we create further stability and move towards meeting the deadline for digital migration".

"On behalf of the Board we wish to congratulate Mr. Motsoeneng and trust that he'll continue to contribute positively to stabilize the SABC" concluded Ms. Tshabalala.
