The IFP Takes the Premiership of KwaZulu-Natal

14 June 2024

When the IFP makes a commitment, the IFP delivers. Throughout the campaign for the 2024 elections, the IFP expressed our intention of restoring a leadership of integrity to the Government of KwaZulu-Natal. This evening, the IFP’s premier candidate, the Hon. Mr Thami Ntuli, was elected Premier of KwaZulu-Natal.

I express my personal congratulations to the Premier, knowing the depth of his dedication to serving KwaZulu-Natal and to honouring the legacy of the IFP’s Founder, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi. On behalf of the IFP, I say a massive thank you to the Premier for shouldering this great responsibility. We are proud of what he has achieved, and prouder still of this opportunity to lead a Government of Provincial Unity to rebuild KwaZulu-Natal.

We thank the Hon. Mrs Nomagugu Simelane-Mngadi and the African National Congress for nominating the Hon. Mr Ntuli, as well as the Hon. Mr Francois Rodgers and the Democratic Alliance for supporting the nomination.

Well done, Honourable Premier. We look forward to your leadership!
