BBC encouraged by the inauguration of the Presidential B-BBEE Advisory Council
6 July 2022
The Black Business Council (BBC) is encouraged by the inauguration of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Advisory Council by H.E. President Cyril Ramaphosa, at the President's Official residence, Mahlamba Ndlopfu in Pretoria, on Tuesday, 05 July 2022.
"This is a very important development in our country and signals that the work of this crucial council has begun in earnest and should bring impetus to the acceleration of the implementation of meaningful a socio-economic transformation. It should also usher in a new trajectory that would grow a new pool of black millionaires through an improvement programme," said Elias Monage, BBC president.
The BBC will work very closely with the council in ensuring that there is proper alignment between the B-BBEE Act and the Public Procurement Bill so that public procurement can be used to create the much-needed jobs, grow the economy and enhance a transfomatory agenda.
The BBC is also looking forward to the review of the B-BBEE Act.
