ActionSA unequivocally supports insourcing and has won the battle with feasibility study
28 March 2024
Claims by the EFF that ActionSA does not support insourcing should be seen as the political misinformation by a party that has never insourced anyone. ActionSA sponsored an insourcing motion July last year which has resulted in the City conducting a feasibility study which is at an advanced stage.
ActionSA yesterday voted against the urgency of the EFF’s motion because it was a duplication of an existing motion brought by ActionSA last year. The existing plans bind the City to a feasibility exercise and ActionSA has conditioned its entry into the coalition in Tshwane upon the requirement to insource security guards and cleaners on the basis of the feasibility exercise.
The misleading of South Africans by the EFF is nothing but empty political grandstanding from a party that claims to support the policy and brings motions but has never insourced anyone.
ActionSA did not vote against insourcing at yesterday’s Council sitting, and in fact unequivocally supports it, having strongly advocated and pursued it in various municipalities throughout the country, including Ekurhuleni, eThekwini, and Johannesburg. It was the duplication of process that was refused, and not the merits of insourcing.
