Investigate dodgy donkey cart donation – Chris Hunsinger

DA calls for investigation into dodgy donkey cart donation

7 November 2022

The DA calls on President Cyril Ramaphosa to urgently instruct the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) to investigate the dodgy donkey cart donation in North West. The 20 carts came with a R780 000 price tag, with each cart priced at R32 500 and R45 500 which is highly overpriced.

Not only does this "donation" smack of brazen corruption, it also is a clear indication of the ANC’s complete disregard for the needs and dignity of these residents.

The 20 donkey carts are supposedly meant as a mode of transport to clinics, shops and schools for local residents.

The ANC government has failed to invest in ambulances and proper transport infrastructure for this province over the years and patients are now being told to use these donkey carts as a means of transport. This while cabinet ministers’ drive around in luxurious cars.

The brazen way the ANC government tries to cover up their own shortcomings over the last almost three decades through this kind of stunt is sickening. We call on President Ramaphosa to act and to instruct the SIU to investigate this travesty and ensure that the North West Department of Transport present viable and effective transport solutions to the people of Dibono and Manawana villages.
