ISANCO & Ekhethu endorse the DA – John Steenhuisen

Party leader says they both believe the DA offers the best path forward for the future of the SA

ISANCO, Ekhethu People’s Party endorse the DA for 2024 election

27 May 2024

The Independent South African National Civic Organisation and the Ekhethu People’s Party have both announced their full endorsement of the Democratic Alliance for all three ballots of the elections on 29 May 2024 – national, provincial and regional – across the length and breadth of South Africa. ISANCO and Ekhethu have taken this decision because they both believe that the DA offers the best path forward for the future of South Africa. ISANCO’s reasons for endorsing the DA are:

Corruption-free government: The DA runs clean, godly government that is corruption free. Where the DA governs, in the Western Cape Province and places like Kouga in the Eastern Cape, uMngeni Municipality in KZN, and Midvaal Municipality in Gauteng etc, taxpayer money is spent on the people. The evidence for this is that they consistently achieve clean audits from the independent Auditor General. ISANCO is committed to uprooting the rot of corruption in South Africa.

Economic upliftment: ISANCO endorses the DA as the party that will achieve economic upliftment through sustainable rural development, through the full utilitsation of land, through building high quality infrastructure, and through the development of small businesses. ISANCO believes this inclusive approach to uplifting the economy will close the unacceptable gap between the haves and have nots.

People-centred government: Where it governs, the DA has built professional administrations that have the capability and the approach that benefits everyone. The DA has achieved this because they promote merit-based appointments to the public service rather than deployment of politically loyal cadres. ISANCO believes this is the way to achieve clean, godly government.

Ekhethu’s reasons for endorsing the DA are:

Inclusive Policies: The DA seeks to deliver to all citizens, in all their initiatives, ensuring that no one is left behind.

Progressive Vision: The DA is committed to a forward-thinking vision for our community, embracing innovative solutions to tackle the challenges we face, from criminal justice reform to community development.

Strong Leadership: The DA is led by dedicated individuals with a proven track record in leadership, ready to improve public services for the poor. Their experience and expertise make them capable of effective governance and informed decision-making.

Social Justice: The DA champions true social justice, striving to create a fair, transparent, and accountable justice system. They are dedicated to addressing systemic inequalities and ensuring everyone has access to justice.

Environmental Stewardship: The DA is committed to protecting our environment and combating climate change, advocating for sustainable practices to preserve our natural resources for future generations.

Economic Prosperity: The DA supports policies that promote economic growth, job creation, and financial stability. They aim to build a strong and resilient economy that benefits everyone.

Community Engagement: The DA values community input and actively engages with residents to understand their concerns and priorities, ensuring that every voice is heard and addressed.

The Democratic Alliance thanks the leadership of ISANCO and the Ekhethu People’s Party for putting their trust in the DA. The DA has committed to doing our best to be worthy of this trust that has been placed in us. Through the DA, ISANCO and Ekhethu will have a voice in Parliament and in legislatures across the country. After the election, the DA will continue to work with ISANCO and Ekhethu to win wards and municipalities off the ANC, so that together we can build a brighter, more inclusive future for the people of South Africa.
