Jansen has already done enough damage – Flip Buys

Flip Buys, Chairperson of the Solidarity Movement, today expressed sharp criticism against Prof. Jonathan Jansen, Rector of the University of the Free State (UFS), and recommended that he should concern himself with university affairs instead of engaging in racist insults.

This follows after Jansen said in a Senate meeting that something went wrong with the upbringing of white Afrikaner menand that proof existed that white students in Afrikaans classes received preferential treatment. Jansen also took the opportunity to re-emphasise the abolishment of Afrikaans as language of instruction.

According to Buys, one gets the impression that before Jansen eventually departs overseas, he wants to try to disparage Afrikaans and her speakers, do damage to the university and polarise people further, one last time. Perhaps it is a good thing that Jansen is able go abroad and apply alienation over there.
