Daily Sun (August 29 2014) - Love her or hate her, nobody questions her ability to shake her booty in a jive, do a sexy waltz or a fiery tango.
SO IF SHE'S THAT GOOD, WHY WAS SHE DUMPED SO BRUTALLY FROM STRICTLY COME DANCING?
It didn't take long before Khanyi Mbau sent out her first angry tweet. Noeleen of 3Talk had invited her on to her show after the self-proclaimed Queen of Bling received her marching orders from the dance contest.
"I refuse to be part of a ‘damage' control episode. You know the truth!" she tweeted.
But speaking to Daily Sun about her ordeal, Khanyi had calmed down considerably and said her tweet had nothing to do with vote rigging or her participation on the dance show.
"Everyone misunderstood my tweet. People expect drama from me but this had to do with my attendance on Noeleen's show yesterday," she said.
-->
"I asked On Point Media to hold all interviews for the next two weeks while I gather myself emotionally after this turn of events."
She said she had to deal with the unexpected shock of being eliminated.
"I had to reboot. I refused to take part in anything," she said.
"There is no insinuation of foul play. It's a dance competition and the best dancer must win."
-->
Khanyi, an advice columnist for Sunday Sun, was one of the leading contestants on Strictly Come Dancing.
Social media went crazy and many fans said the votes were rigged and she and her dance partner, Quintus Jansen should not have been voted off the show.
What made matters worse was that she refused to go on 3Talk with Noeleen on Wednesday with the remaining contestants on the show.
There is no doubt that Khanyi can dance and she showed she does not have two left feet.
-->
The huge amount of Twitter activity has resulted in the SABC releasing a statement regarding the voting process.
It stated: "SABC3 confirms that the Strictly Come Dancing votes are totally accurate - they are audited throughout the show - the auditors sit next to the producers, who tally the scores as they come in."
It also said the show boasts a highly credible panel of judges in Tebogo Kgobokoe, Michael Wentink and Samantha Peo.
"Their professional dance experience spans several decades between them and they have each collected accolades throughout their dancing careers.
-->
The statement also said:
- The public vote for contestants to remain in the show instead of being voted off the show
- Votes received after the closing time do not count
- Judges' votes count for 50% and viewer votes count for the other 50%
Other celebrities who have been voted off the show include Boity Thulo, Janine Davies, Donovan Goliath and Sivuyile Ngesi.
Some of the many tweets received after the show said:
- @Olwee: "No point in watching Strictly Come Dancing anymore. Without Khanyi Mbau, there's not much real dancing. Mxm."
- @hlengimganu: "Dear @official_SABC3, today was my last day watching strictly come dancing. Khanyi Mbau was doing well and the judges could have saved her."
- @Pearlybitch: "Lol so Lee Ann Dlamini dances better than Khanyi Mbau?? #StrictlyComeDancing ningazo dakwa nina man!! Nweh Nweh TV license for ikaka!?"
- @BongekileMavovo: "Something doesn't add up,she is supposed to win this title@KhanyiMbau but don't worry Khanyi you are a winner of#Strictlycomedancing"
