Daily Sun (July 22 2013) - WHEN Truth arrived home from a date she was beaten with a stick, a sjambok and a belt, and kicked and stomped on with booted feet. She was taken to hospital bleeding and unconscious, but doctors could not save her. NOW THE DEAD GIRL'S OWN FATHER IS ON THE RUN FROM THE COPS.
"I knew he was going to kill her," her gogo, Simon Khoza (69) told Daily Sun. "We begged him to stop, but he was too angry."
Gogo Simon said her son, Giyani Ubisi (44), beat his own daughter, Truth Ubisi (16), from Dumphries outside Thulamahashe in Mpumalanga, from 3am in the morning for a full hour. Truth went out to meet her boyfriend on a Saturday night two weeks ago. The beating started when she came home to find her father at the door.
"He just wouldn't stop. After the sjambok he whipped her with a belt, then threw down the belt and hit her with a stick," the gogo said. "We knew he was going to kill her when he began kicking her and stomping on her with booted feet."
He stopped when he realised his daughter was bleeding and unconscious. "He hired a car and took her to the clinic, but she was certified dead on arrival," Simon said. The family drove back home and arranged for a hearse and Truth's body was moved to a private mortuary. A few minutes later, Giyani had disappeared.
"Cops arrived and questioned us about Truth's death and where her body was," said Simon. "We went to the mortuary, and for the first time since the beating, I saw my granddaughter's body. She was swollen and bruised. She had cuts on her thighs and back.
