Mayor De Lille announces City's new Director of Trade and Investment
Today I am pleased to announce that the Lance Greyling has been appointed as the new Director of Trade and Investment for the City of Cape Town and will assume his duties in March 2015.
Lance Greyling is a born and bred Capetonian with an Honours degree in African Studies from the University of Cape Town (majoring in English and Economics) and a postgraduate diploma in Sustainable Energy from Stellenbosch University.
He has been a serving Member of Parliament for the last 11 years, where he served on a number of portfolio committees including Finance, Public Enterprises, Minerals and Energy. He is a noted public figure dealing with economic questions confronting our country.
He brings with him a wealth of experience in sustainable development and shares in our passion for finding solutions to South Africa's energy crisis. As an environmental expert, he will be assisting the City of Cape Town in becoming more energy efficient. He will also work towards increasing foreign direct investment in Cape Town and working with the private sector to cut red tape.
We would like to wish Lance Greyling well in his new role and we look forward to his contribution to investment promotion of the City of Cape Town.
